# Nature finance is not one pot

An Ambio study estimates about £1.15 billion a year in UK nature-finance flows. Its four headline components sum to £1.2348bn: £389.1m agri-environment, £314.8m grants, £142.4m private flows, and £388.5m NGOs and philanthropy.

**Boundary:** the authors say flows interact and double counting must be considered. The arithmetic sum is a diagnostic, not a new audited national total.

## The headline ledger

- Agri-environment: £389.1m.
- Grant schemes: £314.8m.
- Private flows: £142.4m.
- NGOs and philanthropy: £388.5m.

## What remains unclear

86.5% of the 37 private institutions assessed gave no UK nature value or only generic green or sustainable values. No published value does not mean zero finance.
