# The correction narrowed the cosmic story

A reanalysis in MNRAS says that a standard host-galaxy stellar-mass correction changes the story about supernovae and cosmic deceleration. The measured evolution is −0.028 ± 0.034 mag per unit redshift, and the change in w is below 0.01.

**Boundary:** the paper challenges one progenitor-age argument. It does not close every question about dark energy.

## What was corrected

The analysis applies host-galaxy stellar-mass standardisation before interpreting age.

## Three numbers

- −0.028 ± 0.034 mag z−1: measured redshift evolution.
- Δw < 0.01: inferred shift in w.
- 3–5×: how much the paper says the progenitor-age difference was overstated.
