# Trace a public contract in SICAP and local budgets

Link the company fiscal code to the SICAP procedure and treasury payments.

## 1. Identify the procedure in SICAP

Search the procedure by CPV code, contracting authority name or notice number. Record both estimated and awarded values.

## 2. Verify company fiscal status

Query the winning contractor’s fiscal code (CUI) via ANAF to verify VAT status, fiscal inactivity flags and registered address.

## 3. Track actual payments in the budget

Locate the contracting authority in the budget transparency portal and inspect monthly payments issued from the relevant budgetary chapter.

## Caution

Contract value awarded in SICAP does not equal received payment: funds disburse against completed milestones, addenda or terminations can occur, and executed sums only appear in treasury budget execution.
