# Find a school and check education data

Separate school identification from statistical education indicators.

## 1. Identify the institution

Start with official school mapping. Record locality, name, code and school year; confirm recent changes with the inspectorate.

## 2. Establish the local context

Use census resident population as a historical reference. Select one territorial level and state the reference date: 1 December 2021.

## 3. Choose the right indicator

Early leaving describes an age group at country level. A particular school requires separate administrative data.

## Caution

A rename or merger does not prove a building closed. The Eurostat indicator does not measure each school’s performance.
