# The Parking Lot

> The red Dacia is boxed in on row 3 of the car park. Slide the cars around it, clear a path and drive it out of the right-hand gate in as few moves as you can.

## The game

The board is 6 by 6, and the red Dacia, two cells long, sits on row 3. Every car slides lengthwise only: horizontal cars go left and right, vertical cars go up and down.

In the interactive version, cars are dragged with a finger or a mouse; or one is picked with a click and moved with the arrow keys. One move means one car drawn any distance in one direction; with the arrow keys, each press moves one cell.

The 8 levels, in order:

1. First exit — par 2
2. Move the neighbour — par 3
3. Two locks — par 4
4. Monday gridlock — par 5
5. Saturday market — par 6
6. Underground garage — par 8
7. Rush hour — par 9
8. The great exit — par 15

Levels open in order. The stars follow par: three stars for par or under, two stars for at most double par, one star otherwise.

## Why a car park

Every crowded car park is a puzzle: the car you need is blocked by others, and the others are blocked among themselves. The game keeps the scene and removes everything that does not matter: the board, the cars and the exit stay.

The levels are original, and the optimal move count is computed from the rules for each level. Progress stays on your device.
