Where the name comes from
Named after Bushey, although the station stands in neighbouring Oxhey; it was called Bushey & Oxhey from 1912 until 1974. Bushey, recorded as Bissei in the Domesday Book, comes from Old English bysc (bush, thicket) and hæg (enclosure): an enclosure made of bushes.
