Where the name comes from
The area was first called Collin Deep, after the 16th-century family of John Collin; a house called Colindale Lodge and Colindale Farm later stood there.
Worth knowing: T. E. Lawrence used the station while stationed at Hendon Aerodrome and took from it the pen name "Colin Dale" for articles in The Spectator in 1927–28.
