Where the name comes from
Named after Edgware Road, which follows the Roman road Watling Street. Edgware itself is Old English for Ecgi's weir.
Worth knowing: In 2007 a London Assembly member proposed renaming it Church Street Market to end confusion with the other Edgware Road station.
