Where the name comes from
Named after the town of Hounslow; the station stood at the eastern end of Hounslow High Street. Old records spell the name Hundeslow, from Anglo-Saxon Hundes hlāw, 'the barrow of a man named or nicknamed Hound'.
Worth knowing: Its site is now occupied by Hounslow bus garage.
