Why is it called North Ealing?

Piccadilly

Where the name comes from

Ealing comes from the Gillingas, a Saxon tribe named in a charter of about 700, who took their name from a chief called Gilla.

Worth knowing: Despite its name, the station lies east of Ealing Broadway rather than in the north of Ealing.
