Where the name comes from
Named after North End, on the edge of Hampstead Heath and Golders Hill Park, where it was to be built. It is also called Bull & Bush, after the pub nearby.
Worth knowing: At 221 feet below ground, it would have been the deepest station on the network.

Between Hampstead and Golders Green, the tunnels for a station at North End were dug and never finished: in 1904 the land around it became part of Hampstead Heath, so the houses it was meant to serve were never built. At 221 feet (67 m) down, it would have been the deepest station on the network. It is also known as Bull & Bush, after the pub nearby.
