Why is it called Pinner?

Metropolitan

Where the name comes from

First recorded in 1231 as Pinnora; the ending -ora means "hill". Pinn is shared with the River Pinn; another suggestion is "hill-slope shaped like a pin".

Worth knowing: Pinner Fair has been held every year since 1336.
