Where the name comes from
Named after the town. The name comes from Ryckmer, a Saxon landowner, and "worth", meaning a farm or stockade. Domesday Book (1086) records it as the Manor of Prichemaresworde.
Worth knowing: It is one of the few London Underground stations outside Greater London, and so lies in fare zone 7.
