Where the name comes from
Named after the two places it serves: Whetstone, where it stands, and Totteridge to the west. Totteridge was called Tataridge in the 13th century and may be named after someone called Tata. The station opened in 1872 as Totteridge and gained "& Whetstone" in 1874.
