Where the name comes from
Named after Turnham Green, a settlement on the western road out of London and one of the small settlements that made up Chiswick. The village was recorded as Turneham in 1235 and as Turnhamgrene in 1369.
Worth knowing: A decisive skirmish of the English Civil War took place on Turnham Green.
