Where the name comes from
Named after Sir Harry Verney of Claydon House, a director and investor in the railway, because there was no settlement to take a name from. 'Junction' reflects its site at a four-way railway junction.
Worth knowing: Verney had been born Harry Calvert; a nearby station, Calvert, was later named after him too.
