Where the name comes from
A railway name: the station is at the intersection of the North London and Watford DC lines, in Harlesden, and takes the Willesden name for the junction. Willesden comes from Anglo-Saxon Willesdune, "the Hill of the Spring".
Worth knowing: By 1897, 199 passenger trains and 47 goods trains passed through the high-level station each day.
