What this sky calculates
For every day of 2026, local clock time is converted through the city's IANA time zone. NOAA equations provide solar declination, the equation of time, and the Sun's geometric elevation. The −0.833° threshold includes approximate atmospheric refraction and the apparent solar disc used for sunrise and sunset.
Terrain, buildings, clouds, and day-to-day atmospheric variation are outside the calculation. Observed light near the horizon may differ by several minutes; beyond ±72° latitude, the theoretical difference may reach about ten minutes.
