What the official sources say

The D/AM2 work route

As of 30 September 2026, WorkinRomania's home page said its employer-registration, authorisation and single-application flows for D/AM2 were disabled after a Bucharest Court of Appeal decision suspended Ministerial Order 1073/2026. The shortage-occupation list remains viewable, but that does not mean you can submit an application now.

Residence conditions

IGI describes routes for work, study, business and family reunification. Study in Romania explains student-visa requirements; the EU Immigration Portal and European Commission describe highly qualified work and EU Blue Card mobility.

Amounts and visa documents

eViza requires income of at least three times the average gross monthly wage for each of the last six months and throughout the visa period. INS reported an average gross monthly wage of 9,497 lei for August 2026; three times that amount is 28,491 lei. This is an example for the published month, not a current threshold confirmed by IGI. Check with IGI which reference applies. The INS release 262, 13 October 2026 and eViza D/AS checklist are linked below.

Travel in Schengen

The European Commission's Blue Card page and the EEAS Schengen FAQ explain EU mobility rules and the usual limit of 90 days in any 180-day period.
