The market honesty box: where fakes cluster — unwritten

UNESCO certifies the craft, not the piece in your hand. Horezu 2012, the altiță blouse 2022 made the human List — the stall piece answers only to the checklist + maker; uncertain stays uncertain, photos never tell.

D1 · Horezu list

ich.unesco.org list 00610 (fetched 2026-09-18): 2012, 7.COM, Representative List. The sense: handmade red pottery in northern Vâlcea; divided sexes (men the earth, women the decor); finger shaping; horn and wire-tipped stick with traditional motifs; brown, red, green, blue, Horezu ivory; wood kiln; family–workshop–fair transmission.

D2 · Blouse list

ich.unesco.org list 01861 (fetched 2026-09-18): 2022, 17.COM, Romania + Moldova. The sense: the shoulder-embroidered (altiță) shirt; white, natural fibres (flax, cotton, hemp, floss silk); complex horizontal–vertical–diagonal stitch; region, age, and maker variables; entirely by hand, mechanization and simplification deviations (verbatim); female, family transmission.

D3 · MNTR ceramics

mntr.ro ceramics (fetched 2026-09-18): the Horezu center since the late 18th century, glaze, jirăvire (gaiță + horn, spiderweb fineness, concentric circles, central fish/sun/rooster/spiral/church, vegetal and geometric, cardboard stencil), white ground (rare old green). The motif source of the five tells.
