One of the last stretches of free-flowing Danube in Europe, a Ramsar site since 2001, with over 200 bird species — roughly 70% of the Danube Delta's avian diversity, on an area 25 times smaller. The visitor centre, unique in Romania, is built on a floating pontoon.
