Visiting
Romania's oldest national park (a scientific reserve since 1935), with over 80 glacial lakes — Bucura, the country's largest glacial lake — and Peleaga peak (2,509 m), the massif's highest point. The glacial cirques and rocky ridges around them draw thousands of hikers to the Southern Carpathians every year.
