The Nepali, Bangla and Sinhala editions were translated and checked by AI models. No native speaker has reviewed them. The English edition is the reference version. If in doubt, compare the translation with the English edition and the official sources. Most facts were last checked against the official sources on 2 October 2026; the source ledger shows the check date of each claim.
Before you travel
A finite pre-departure evidence checklist before accepting and travelling for a job in Romania.
1. Identify every actor
- Write the full legal name of the origin-country recruiter/agency.
- Write the Romanian placement agency, if one exists.
- Write the Romanian employer separately.
- Record licence/registration numbers and do not treat a WhatsApp display name as a legal identity.
2. Freeze the deal before travel
- Keep the job advertisement and recruiter promises.
- Keep the firm job offer and every contract version.
- Write gross salary, net salary, hours, overtime, accommodation, transport, deductions and repatriation separately.
- Do not allow a last-minute document to silently replace an earlier promise; record what changed.
3. Verify the route
- Use your origin country’s official recruitment/foreign-employment systems.
- Use official Romanian immigration and WorkinRomania information for the Romanian side.
- Separate government fees from agency/service/travel costs.
- Record what a register actually says; “listed” is not “safe”, and “not found” is not automatically “fraud”.
4. Carry your own evidence
- Keep copies of passport/visa/residence documents under your control.
- Keep contracts, receipts, messages and company contacts somewhere you can access without the employer.
- Record important dates: offer, signature, payment, travel, first workday and visa/residence deadlines.
- After arrival, compare the first job, first payslip, hours, deductions and accommodation with what was promised.
How to read the evidence: Government guidance explains a process. A document mismatch needs checking. A register entry does not make a job safe.
