What you breathe on your street
Thirty official stations are measuring Bucharest's air today. We put them all on one map, in 3D, with the European model and the sensors from citizen networks and schools — and each of the 4,878 streets gets its own number.
Today, 4,835 of 4,878 streets sit below the WHO daily line for PM2.5 (15 µg/m³). Where the air crosses it, the page shows by how much and why it thinks so.
The highest station is B-17, at Colegiul Tehnic Mihai Bravu: 20.9 µg/m³ of PM2.5. The cleanest is B-8, at Balotești: 1.1.
The numbers are measurements of 30 September 2026, 16:30 Bucharest time. The page gives no medical advice: the bands show the WHO and European lines, and sensitive people ask their doctor.
The city with all its air#
Green are the 30 official stations, each on its value of today. Orange are the 44 indicative sensors from citizen networks and schools. Between them, the surface joins everything: where nobody measures, the European model speaks.

This is the whole network of today: 30 official stations and 44 indicative sensors, on the PM2.5 surface. Colour says the band, height says the value.
Only the official stations: B-1 to B-30, traffic, industrial and background, from Sintești to Balotești. Their values come via Aerlive and are informative; the official method sits with the environment agency.
Only the citizen networks: 44 sensors from neighbourhoods and schools. They are indicative and uncorrected — they show the city's texture, not the street's verdict.
For example, Șoseaua Mihai Bravu: 10.2 µg/m³ in the middle, between 6.7 and 18.4 along its length. The nearest official station, B-16, is 0.5 km away; the model share is 1%.
Only the surface: where stations are sparse, the number comes mostly from the European CAMS model, on 11 km cells. Every street shows its model share; the larger it is, the more the number is arithmetic and the less it is measurement.

What the bands mean#
The bands set today's number against daily lines, not annual ones: a value of today is read against what is allowed in a day, not against a year's average. The lines are defined for 24-hour means, and today's number comes from a single hour — an hour above the line is not a day in breach.

For PM10, the daily lines are 45 at WHO and EU 2030, and 50 at the EU of today (at most 35 days a year).
WHO counts people with chronic conditions — asthma, COPD, diabetes, heart failure —, children and pregnant women as the most affected. When values run high, they ask their doctor; the page gives no medical advice.
How the number is made#
Each street takes its value from the official stations around it, weighted by distance: the closer the station, the more it counts. Where stations are far, the European CAMS model steps in, counted as one station 4 km away. The model share of every number is written beside it.
The 44 indicative sensors stay out of the arithmetic. They are shown as they come, uncorrected: some read differently in humid air, and the page does not guess a correction. You see them as texture, and the nearest one appears beside the street's number, as a witness.
The numbers are measurements of 30 September 2026, 16:30 Bucharest time: the official stations via Aerlive (informative), the indicative sensors via Aerlive and sensor.community, the model via Open-Meteo. A long street also gets its range along its length, not just the middle.
Limits: the CAMS model sees 11 km cells, not streets; a large model share means a number more computed than measured. The official values are the ones Aerlive republishes; the official method and alerts sit with the environment agency.
