Questions workers ask

Can I change employer before six months?

Current WorkinRomania guidance describes a general rule allowing change of employer by resignation after at least six months with the previous employer, but also an exception in duly justified cases of serious employer breach. Whether the exception applies is an individual legal/factual question.

Boundary: Immigration and labour consequences depend on the individual case; do not resign solely on the basis of this summary.

What to do next

  1. Do not manufacture a “serious breach” to fit the exception.
  2. Collect evidence of any real breach.
  3. Check the immigration procedure and timing with IGI before resigning.
