The Carol I National Defence University, popularly known as the Military Academy.
The station takes its name from the nearby Carol I National Defence University, also known as the Military Academy.

- The two M5 tunnel-boring machines started from here.
- On 12 December 2015, during work between Academia Militară and Eroilor, part of Eroilor Boulevard collapsed; some residents were evacuated.
- The M5 tunnels were bored by two TBMs named Varvara and Filofteia, at an average depth of 16 m.
