Where the name comes from

A place or district

The nearby Tineretului Park ('Youth Park').

Tineretului Park was laid out in 1965–1974 on the 'Valley of Weeping', a former rubbish dump, with 'patriotic' volunteer labour by young people; which gave the park its name, later taken by the district and the station. Before the 1980s the district was called Cărămidarii-de-Jos.
