Where the name comes from
A place or district
The Titan district, named after the early-20th-century Titan cement factory.
The word comes from Greek mythology and was taken up by a local cement factory in the early 20th century, which gave the district its name. The area was earlier known as Balta Albă; some historians link that name to the plague of 1813, and other explanations circulate as legends. The district was built from the 1950s to the 1970s.
