Where the name comes from
A place or district
The station stands at the end of Aviatorilor Boulevard.
First called Șoseaua Nouă and later Șoseaua Jianu, the boulevard took its name from the bronze monument to aviator heroes, erected under King Carol II. The station is under Charles de Gaulle Square, near Herăstrău Park.
