Where the name comes from
A person
Nicolae Teclu (1839–1916), Brașov-born Romanian chemist who invented the Teclu burner.
Teclu studied at the Vienna Polytechnic and became a chemistry professor in Vienna; he was a member of the Romanian Academy from 1879. He studied flames and in 1890 patented a burner with adjustable air–gas ratio, giving a hotter flame than the Bunsen burner. His name replaced 'Policolor', after the nearby paint factory, in 2009.
