Where the name comes from

Tudor Vladimirescu (c. 1780–1821), leader of the 1821 uprising and of the pandurs.
The station is named after Tudor Vladimirescu. Tradition links the name of the Drumul Taberei district to the pandur camp he set up here in 1821.

- The M5 tunnels were bored by two TBMs named Varvara and Filofteia, at an average depth of 16 m.
- M5 was the first line conceived entirely after 1989; its first tender (November 2008) was cancelled in January 2010.
