The Republica works, the pipe factory whose industrial area the station serves.
The Republica works was a state oil-pipe maker, Romania's largest pipe factory, part of the plants Nicolae Malaxa built in 1929–1938. It went bankrupt and its machinery was sold in 2008 and moved to India. The station serves the works' industrial zone.
