Where the name comes from

A date in history

Those killed in the Romanian Revolution of December 1989, in whose memory the station is named.

Historia links the name to the nearby cemetery where heroes of the Revolution are buried, next to Bellu Cemetery. The station, designed by architects Bogdan Popovici and Doina Tănăsescu, was renamed after 1989.

  • Pieptănari 1986 – 1990

Pieptănari: the nearby boulevard and area, named after the comb-makers, artisans who cleaned wool for broadcloth with iron-toothed combs.

Worth knowing

  • It was designed by architects Bogdan Popovici and Doina Tănăsescu.
  • A future interchange with line M4 is planned.
