The former village, now district, of Crângași.
The village of Crângași appears on 19th-century maps and was gradually absorbed into Bucharest between 1895 and 1943. The station stands in the district of the same name. Where the word comes from is not clear.

- The station is finished in white Rușchița and red Moneasa marble, to designs by architect Georgeta Gabrea.
